Alun Jones is Longside Radio’s resident Jazz man. Catch his show on Sunday night at 9pm.
Alun’s interest in Jazz stemmed from my childhood in the mid-sixties, sat with my parents on Saturday evenings, watching a black and white TV and the likes of Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and Chris Barber. Moving onto the 1980s, I was an avid listener to the weekly variety of jazz presented by Humphrey Lyttelton on the radio.
Longside Radio enabled Alun to fulfil his passion in 2012, when I was invited to present my own programme ‘The Jazz Hour’, which is broadcasted live, every Sunday evening from 9pm
